Luis Oro holds a Chair in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza. He is the author of more than 500 publications on organometallic compounds and homogeneous catalysis and the co-author or co-editor of seven books. He holds the position of series editor for the publication Topics in Organometallic Chemistry, is co-chairman of the Editorial Board at ChemCatChem, and sits on the Advisory Board of prestigious international publications such as Angewandte Chemie.

Dr. Oro has received prestigious distinctions and awards including the Jaume I Research Award and the National Award for Research in Chemical Science and Technology. He has been granted an honorary doctorate from the University of Rennes and is a member of several scientific academies, including the German and French National Academies of Sciences. He has been distinguished as a “Highly Cited Researcher” and from 2008 to 2011 he was the president of the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences (EuCheMS).
