Felip Vidiella was born in Vinyols i els Arcs in the province of Tarragona. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemical sciences with a special focus on industrial applications from the University of Barcelona. He later earned a master’s degree from ESADE in strategic market management. Vidiella’s professional career path led him to take on a wide variety of functions for different departments at Dow Chemical, from the research of catalysts for polymerisation processes to positioning new products in consumer markets.
Mr. Vidiella began his relationship with Dow Chemical in 1986 as a researcher in the European R&D laboratory in Terneuzen, The Netherlands, where he held different positions including R&D department group leader until 1993 when he joined the Market Development Group of INSITE Technology in Horgen, Switzerland. In 1998 he was named head of global development for the Soluble Catalysts R&D Group in Freeport, Texas. Three years later he took on the position of European Director of R&D for the packaging and flexible packaging market, part of the Base Plastic Division.
In 2007 he became the Europe, Russia and MEAF director of R&D in the Performance Plastics business division of Dow Chemical. Vidiella has also held the position of university adjunct professor.
