Postdoctoral researcher at the Henkel-ICIQ joint unit
Helmut Degenbeck studied chemistry at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, where he obtained his diploma in 2006 studying the suitability of water-soluble iron porphyrins as model complexes for cytochrome P450 enzymes. After receiving his MSc degree in 2007 from the University of Tarragona, Spain, he joined the group of Anton Vidal at the Catalan Institute of Chemical Research (ICIQ) where he presented his PhD thesis entitled “Transfer of Chirality in New Supramolecular Complexes as Design Principle for Future Asymmetric Catalysts” in 2011. In his current occupation he works as postdoctoral researcher for the Henkel-ICIQ Joint Unit on industrial projects. His expectations regarding the Nobel Campus include learning more about the Nobel laureates’ motivation, their view on future challenges of science in a more and more complex world, further training by participating in the several workshops, as well as meeting other young scientists for discussing their and his own research.
