During my PhD in Santiago de Compostela, I studied the feasibility of an innovative wastewater treatment technology (membrane bioreactors) for the elimination of emerging pollutants from sewage. Afterwards, I get a post-doc position in the Catalan Institute of Water research (ICRA), being involved in the development of environmental decision support systems. As a young researcher, my immediate plans are focussed on the search of a post-doctoral position in a foreign research centre to continue developing my career in the field of environmental engineering, focused on the study of feasible solutions for water pollution issues.

At the current stage of my career, the possibility to attend to the Campus of International Excellence is indeed a unique chance, given the quality of the content of the programme, the current relevance of the invited speakers and the networking opportunities that this event will provide. I feel particularly enthusiastic about the possibility to interact with the six Nobel Prize-winners in the field of chemistry. Indeed, the exchange of experiences and knowledge with them will be both useful and inspiring!
