Postdoctoral researcher at IMICROQ
Research topic: "New nanoporous materials electrodeposited for energy and sensors applications"
BSc. Chemistry at the University of Oviedo (Spain). He worked at the same University as a research fellow, during three years, in the immunoanalysis with electrochemical detection field. Later, he did his Ph.D. in Electrochemistry under the supervision of Prof. P.N. Bartlett. His doctoral thesis was based on the improvements in the performance of reference electrodes in commercial screen printed sensors for the detection of glucose, at MediSense (now Abbott Laboratories, UK). Later, he worked on practical aspects of technology transfer at Nanotecture (UK). While working at this nanotechnology company, Dr. Martinez focus his work on developing and commercially exploit the new technology related to new nanoporous materials electrodeposited for energy and sensors applications. Furthermore, he also worked duringtwo years in the R+D+i Department of Central Lechera Asturiana, carrying out trials of new products manufactured at pilot plant and production scale.
As part of the R+D+i team of IMICROQ, Dr. Martinez is responsible for development of the screen printed microsystem, as well as for the optimization of the electrochemical signal detection system of the prototypes being developed by the company."
