Master student at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili
Research topic: "New methods and strategies for the synthesis of large polyarenes"
Pilar Calleja (Barcelona, 1988) graduated in Chemistry at the University of Barcelona (UB), Spain (2011). During this period, she worked as a predoctoral fellow at the Department of Physical Chemistry of the UB. In July 2011, she moved south and joined the group of Prof. Antonio M. Echavarren at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia in Tarragona (Spain) as Summer Fellow and in October she started her PhD working on the development of new methods and strategies for the synthesis of large polyarenes. She is also finishing her Master
studies on “Synthesis and Catalysis” at the Rovira I Virgili University (Tarragona, Spain).
As a young researcher, this program is an exceptional opportunity to interact with six Nobel Prize-winners in chemistry and to expand the background that I have been acquiring in this discipline for the last years.
