Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ)
Research topic: Organometallic fluorine chemistry
Alessandro Zanardi was born in 1980 in Busto Arsizio, Italy. He studied Chemistry at the University of Como – Universitá dell’Insubria (Italy), where he graduated in 2005. After that he moved to Spain, where he obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2010 at the University Jaume I of Castellón de la Plana, Spain. In his Ph.D. work under the direction of Professor Eduardo Peris and the supervision of Professor José Mata, he covered a pioneer project that dealt with a new approach to tandem catalysis employing heterobimetallic complexes. During his graduate studies he also spent several months doing research in Professor Sylviane Sabo-Etienne’s laboratory at the LCC (“Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination») of the CNRS of Toulouse, France.
In 2011, Alessandro worked as a postdoctoral research associate with Professor Vladimir Grushin, at the Institute of Chemical Research Of Catalonia (ICIQ) in Tarragona, Spain, working in the area of organometallic fluorine chemistry. He is currently a project researcher in the mixed unit Henkel-ICIQ of the same institute working on an industrial project.
