PhD student at the University of Glasgow
Research topic: Squarate-templated Polyoxothiometalates
I am a second year PhD student from University of Glasgow supervised by Leroy Cronin. I am interested in synthesizing novel functional polyoxometalates (POMs) and now I am studying its subclass-- polyoxothiometalates and its potential application in hydrogen evolution; in the future, I will go on studying POMs as well as their potential applications in the field of medicine and energy. I have published several papers on POMs. I am thirsty for going to this Nobel Campus because I notice my work is to some extent relevant to some work of Nobel prize winners as well as the discussion topic ’Energy and Sustainability’. More importantly, I may get more wonderful ideas from the world-leading scientists and explore the possibility of applying the materials in making new electrodes for splitting water.
