Ph.D student at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili
Research topic: "Development of new synthetic routes for the production of biologically active oligosaccharides"
Javier Castilla López received his BSc in chemistry from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona (Spain), where he then completed his MSc in synthesis and catalysis. In 2008 he joined the research group of Prof. Sergio Castillón. He is currently finishing his PhD on the development of new synthetic routes for the production of biologically active oligosaccharides. His research interests not only include natural products chemistry, but also their use in medicine. He signed up for the campus with the objective to discuss cutting edge research at the interface between chemistry and biology by convening distinguished scientist from across the globe.
