PhD student at the Technische Universität Berlin
Research topic: "Spectroelectrochemistry of Membrane Proteins Incorporated into Tethered Bilayer Lipid Membranes"
Originally from Poland, I spent my school days in Germany and studied chemistry at the Technische Universität in Berlin. During my studies I started to work in the group of Prof. Hildebrandt in the field of biophysical chemistry as a student research assistant. After my graduation, I continued my work in the Hildebrandt group as a doctoral student and a fellow of the Berlin International Graduate School of Natural Sciences and Engineering (Big-NSE) of the excellence initiative Unifying Concepts in Catalysis (UniCat). My scientific interest focuses on the engineering of biocompatible surfaces for electrochemical and spectroscopic studies of membrane proteins, a crucial challange in the field life sciences. The techniques I am specialized in are electrochemical impedance sepctroscopy and surface-enhanced vibrational spectroscopies such as Surface-enhanced Raman (SER) and Surface-enhanced Infrared Absorption (SEIRA). The CEICS Nobel Campus is a very attractive platform to stimulate the interaction between scientists and broaden my scientific horizonts.
