PhD student at the Universitat de Girona
Research topic: Observation of Fe(V)=O using Variable Temperature Mass Spectrometry and its enzyme-like C-H and C=C oxidation reactions
Graduated in chemistry at the University of Girona in 2008. She is performing her PhD studies in the same university in the group of Dr. Miquel Costas and Dr. Xavi Ribas. Her work is based on the synthesis and characterization of new bioinspired iron complexes, and the study of their catalytic activity in C-H and C=C oxidation reactions using H2O2 as oxidant. Furthermore, she studies the catalytic species involved in these catalytic reactions by using variable temperature Mass Spectrometry and isotopic labeling experiments. During her PhD studies she has performed short research stays in different internationally recognized centers: Lee Cronin’s group at the University of Glasgow (United Kingdom), Matthias Beller’s group in the Leibniz-Institut für Katalyse in Rostock (Germany) and Martin Albrecht’s group at the University College Dublin (Ireland).
“The participation in the Nobel Campus represents a unique opportunity to attend to different lectures of Nobel Laureates and discuss my research with them. In addition, it will allow me to learn new concepts of chemistry that are far away from my current research."
