PhD student at the University of Cambridge
Research topic: ‘Novel matrices for in-process biopharmaceutical manufacturing’
My passion is in studying and developing novel technologies in Biotechnology and particularly focus on scale up processes and commercialisation. I undertook a BTech in Biotechnology degree at the University of Auckland sponsored by a First Foundation Scholarship. In 2008 I was offered a New Zealand Undergraduate Study Abroad Award to study in National University of Singapore and helped spin out a liver fibrosis diagnostic medical devices company. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge sponsored by EPSRC and Prince of Wales Cambridge Commonwealth. My Ph.D. aims at developing a novel platform purification system for downstream processing of therapeutic drugs.
The Nobel Campus will provide an opportunity to explore interdisciplinary research that can be struck between the fields of Chemistry and Biology. I am particularly interested in exploring how collaborations between the two disciplines can create future breakthrough technologies.
