Master student at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili
Research Topic: "Catalytic Borylation-Fluorination of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds"
Gerard Palau Lluch was born in Sant Jaume dels Domenys, Spain in 1987. He recieved his B. S. in Chemistry from University Rovira i Virgili in 2010. In 2009 he experienced an interesting research project concerning the synthesis and characterization of Imidazole derivatives at the Eberhard-Karls Universität of Tübingen in Germany within an Erasmus framework. Right after recieving his B. S. in Chemistry, he was granted by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to work as a researcher at the Universität Potsdam in Germany developing Calixarene-based nanosensors until July 2011. In September 2011 he obtained a FPI grant from the Spanish Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili under the supervision of Dr. Elena Fernández and Dr. Henryk Gulyás in the field of Catalytic Organoborane Chemistry and its development by economically viable transition metal catalysts.
The participation in this Campus will be completely enrichful to me, because I’m deeply interested on meeting and interacting with different people in the scientific community, in order to learn and to confirm myself as a scientist and keep going with enthusiasm in this world I barely entered.
