Asraa Ziadi completed her bachelor thesis under the guidance of Prof. Stawinski, exploring the Pd-catalyzed coupling of aryl halides with H-phosphonate diesters. She then moved to Germany for 5 months working on Ni-catalyzed polymerization of CO with Ethylene in the group of Prof. Klüi. She completed her Master’s degree in 2010 under the supervision of Prof. Ass. Belén Martín-Matute, which included the synthesis and employement of n-propylamine modified mesoprous silica in the sorption of CO2. Later on, she moved to the Group of Dr. Rubén Romo Martin for a summer fellowship where she explored the synthesis of cyclobutanones and alkenes via C-H functionalization of aryl chlorides. She is currently undertaking PhD studies, under the supervision of Dr. Martín, involving b-Carbon Elimination in benzocyclobuatnols.

"I would like to participate in the Nobel Campus held by the University of Rovira i Virgili, due to many causes. First of all I think that it would be a great honour to participate in  a conference where you would have the possibility to interact with different professors,
who have been acknowledged for their work widelyin the world. I  also think,it’s a great opportunity to have the chance to present my work and receive some feedback on the subject. I am hoping to interact with these professors and get to know them a bit better. We have all read the chemistry of these professors, but now we have the chance to get to know
them better personally. My expectatins for this conference are high and I really hope that they will be exceeded!"
