Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ)
Research topic: "Transition metal-catalyst CO2 activation"
Arkaitz Correa studied chemistry at the University of the Basque Country, where he received his PhD degree in 2006 conducting research on hypervalent iodine chemistry. During that time, he did a short stay in the group of Prof. Feringa at the University of Groningen. In 2007. he joined the group of Prof. Bolm at the RWTH Aachen University as a postdoctoral researcher working for two years in metal-catalyzed cross-couplings. Then he moved to the ICIQ in Tarragona to work in the field of carbon dioxide activation, where he is currently a “Juan de la Cierva” researcher.
