Antonio Moran

Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ)

Research topic: Organocatalysis

I am an Organic Chemist (PhD) with over ten year experience in research, mainly on mechanistic studies. During my PhD, I developed theoretical studies of organic reaction mechanisms. I complemented this knowledge during my Postdoc acquiring experience in kinetics. At the moment, my main interest is to unravel the mechanism of reactions catalyzed by organic molecules (organocatalysis) that have shown to be highly stereoselective. My work may be helpful to solve some practical problems of organocatalysts, like its low turnover. The Nobel Campus is an amazing opportunity to know some of the most important chemist of the world and to get their view about the main problems that the chemist should solve in the future.
